Our focus for this half term is FRIENDSHIP. We will be adding to our Values tab how we are exploring how that looks in our school and how we can live it out in our lives, as Jesus taught us to.

Our RE enriches all of our learning. This half term, we are looking at the question...

'Why do some people believe in God?'

Daily Timetable

Start of school is at 8.50 am

End of school is at 3.20 pm

Playtime is at 10.45 am and lunch is at 12.40

Things to remember in Year 5

*Each child needs to bring their Reading Book Bag or small rucksack into school each day.

*School planners and reading books will be needed in school every day.

*Each child will choose a library book which can be changed weekly.

* Each child should have their own water bottle in school that they can use in the classroom.

* School uniform and appropriate footwear will be worn every day.

* PE kits will be needed for the children to change into on the days they do PE – this is on a Monday with Mr Stevenson, and on Friday, the children will need to bring their swimming kits.

* Toast (Tuck) can be purchased online and is £10 a term, or £1 per week.

Reading:

Children will have their own reading books to take home. We look forward to seeing their progress and enthusiasm for reading.

We have a well-resourced school library where the children are allowed to select a book, and there is also a reading corner in the classroom, which we will encourage the children to use regularly to really build that love of reading.

It is so important that the children keep learning and practising their Times Tables - it will unlock so much of their learning in Maths for this year and all subsequent years.

The children still have access to TT Rockstars that can be used and I would also recommend the following website, which is free to use and works on both tablets and smartphones:
