LITERACY
Week 4: Wednesday 3rd February
This story is all about a boy who finds a new world filled with Tree Goblins but did you know that there are lots of different types of goblins in the world?
When you write your story, your character could meet a different type of goblin.
Let’s make a list of the goblins that could be in your story. To help create a goblin I like to use weather, nature or places to help me but you may have your own amazing ideas.

SPELLINGS
Week 4:
This week we are looking at Homophones - where words can sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings.
As always Year 5 I'd like you to find the definition of the words and then practise them during the week by writing them out as well as putting them into silly sentences :)
At the end of the week do have someone at home give you a mini spelling test to check your learning.
This weeks words are:
stationary stationery
steal steel
wary weary
who’s whose
fate fete

Week 4:
Check out the Teaching Powerpoint below about Challenging Stereotyping.
Try each of the activities on the slides Year 5 as it is so important that we make sure we do not stereotype people in our society.
Then once you have completed the Activities try to design a poster that encourages people not to stereotype. Use drawings and pictures to really promote the view that we should treat all people equal and not make assumptions.
