Year 3 ME

Hello everyone and welcome to Year 3!smiley

We hope you are enjoying the summer holidays. It's been a long time since some of you were in school but it will be great to be back together soon.

Here's a little bit of information about the adults you will be working with. We are looking forward to seeing you!

The adults in your classroom will be

Class teacher: Miss Emmett

Teaching Assistant: Miss Palmer

Sports coach: Mr Stevenson

Intervention teacher: Mrs Styan

On Wednesdays Miss Emmett will take some time out of class for her Deputy Head duties and Mrs Atkinson will be teaching the class for the day.

Miss Emmett

I like being outside, in the garden or going for walks. My favourite place to be is the beach and I also like camping and travelling. I love my family and friends and like to spend time with them when I'm not at school. My hobbies are dancing, running, swimming and horse riding. I really like cooking too and love eating foods from all around the world.

Mrs Atkinson

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  My hobbies include running, reading books and taking my new puppy for long walks.  I aim to learn something new everyday.

Miss Palmer

I like reading and listening to music. I love to sing, even though I'm not very good at it. I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter and I also love dogs.

Our Learning

We bet you're wondering what school will be like in September, especially if you haven't been here for a while. We have lots of fun and exciting activities planned.

Our first topic is called 'Wonderful Wildlife'. We will be looking at lots of different aspects of nature, including: British wildlife animals, habitats and local wildlife.

We will be learning reading, writing and maths every day and will have lots of creative activities to try too.

For now, it's really important that you keep practising your reading and phonic skills at home.

Some things to remember

You will need to come to school in your school uniform and bring a water bottle. Don't forget 20p every day if you would like school tuck or bring a healthy snack from home. You can also bring a small bag but don't worry about bringing anything else. You will be given your own special stationery pack with everything you need inside.

Mr Stevenson will be teaching you one each week and PE will be outside as much as possible. We will give you more details about this later.

Keeping ourselves safe

We will be washing our hands regularly and keeping our classroom clean and tidy so it is a safe place to be. When we play outside we will be able to play with Mr Eames' class and we will have our own section of the playground and our own outdoor equipment to use. We will try to be outside as much as we possibly can, especially while we are learning about nature so make sure you wear sensible shoes and a warm coat.

Our Classroom

We will be in a different classroom in September. We will be using the room that used to be the Rainbow Room. It isn't quite ready yet and we are busy getting it ready.

So, stay safe and have fun over the summer. We will see you soon. yes
