Year 1SK

Class Teacher -Mrs Keane

Teaching Assistant - Miss Doody

PE Coach- Mr Stevenson

PPA Teacher - Mrs Atkinson

Welcome to Year One.

Having already met the children, I am looking forward to working with them from September.  I am sure we will all work hard and have lots of fun.

In Year One the teaching and learning is guided by the National Curriculum.  As in their Reception class children will have access to provision areas, although at times there will be more structure to their daily routine with set play times and subject lessons delivered in a fun and practical way.  The first topic we will cover (linked to the subject of Science) will be about the human body.  We will learn about external body parts as well as the senses.

Children will need to bring a book bag, a water bottle, their packed lunch if choosing not to have a school dinner and tuck money (£1 per week).  PE lesson will be held on Tuesdays so please remove piercings on that day.  The school day is from 9am until 3.15pm with lunch 12pm until 12.45pm with a morning and afternoon playtime.

I hope you have had a lovely Summer Holiday but please do do not hesitate to email me (sally.keane@st-pauls.stockport.sch.uk) if you have any queries.
