Reading is a fantastic activity to do on your own or with someone. This term we are trying to encourage reading in our class. Part of this is introducing a reading competition.
Every time your child reads and gets their planner signed, they will earn 5 points, and bringing their planner in for reading on a Thursday will earn them 10 points. The child who has the most points by Friday 14th May will win a prize.
This half term you children have 4 weeks of swimming lessons, they will be on:
On these weeks we will not have PE on a Wednesday.
For swimming your child will need:
Swimming costume or trunks (no bikinis and trunks must be tight)
Swimming hat (if they have long hair)
Your child can come in with their costumes under their uniform, please make sure they have everything to change into afterwards.
This term we are learning about Our Home, focusing on the United Kingdom as well as places closer to home. Attached you will find the knowledge organiser which outlines the learning that will be taking place and some of the activities you could do with your child.

Your child has PE with Mr Stephenson on Tuesday, please send you child in wearing their PE kits. They will be doing PE outside as much as possible so please ensure their kit is suitable.
Please send you child in with a water bottle every day, please only fill it with water and they will be able to refill it throughout the day.
If your child would like tuck at break time it is 20p per day or you can pay £1 for the week.
Your child will be sent home with a reading book, please try and read with them as much as possible and once you have finished their book send it back into school so it can be changed as quickly as possible. On Thursday mornings we try and read with the children, so please could you make sure their reading books are brought in then myself or Mrs Hughes can have the opportunity to listen to them read.
