Jesus said, "I have come in order that you may have life - life in all its fullness."
John 10:10
MESSAGE TO THE YEAR 6 LEAVERS
It was so lovely to celebrate you all in our assembly on Tuesday. You can now watch the videos in the Videos section of this Children tab. Spread the words to your friends and classmates. Also don't forget you can have copies of both videos if you drop off a USB stick at the school office.
We will miss you all and wish you all the best as you move on to high school. Don't forget to come and visit us!
God bless
Miss Harrington, Mr Moran, Mrs Bouchier and all staff of St Paul's C of E Primary.
Christian Value
Our focus for this half term is LEARNING THROUGH STORIES. Have a look on our Values tab to see how we have been exploring how that looks in our school and how we can live it out in our lives, as Jesus taught us to.
Religious Education
Our RE enriches all of our learning. This term, we are looking at the question...
What matters most to Christians and to Humanists?

Things to remember in Year 6
* School planners and reading books will be needed in school everyday.
* Each child should have their own water bottle in school that they can use in the classroom.
* School uniform will be worn every day from September.
* PE kits will be needed for the children to change into on the days they will do PE - Mondays and Thursdays.
* Toast or an apple can be purchased online and is £10 a term
* Spelling work will begin in the classroom on a Monday and needs to be completed and returned on a Friday.
* A themed homework grid will be provided at the beginning of each half term and any completed work should
be returned on a Friday.
Homework in the Summer term
Homework will be set every week.
The children will be expected to complete their reading, weekly spellings and time table activities.
This will support their progress throughout the year in Literacy and Numeracy.
In addition to this, children will have homework which will be linked to each termly Learning Challenge.
The children will be able to earn more points for each activity they complete, working towards a target amount and
earning a prize when the amount is successfully reached.
We love to read.....
Children will have their own reading books to take home. We look forward to seeing your progress on our Reading Rocks chart.
Children in Year 6 enjoy reading lessons, including the use of Cracking Comprehension where you can develop your reading and comprehension skills.
We will be reading a class book - we will begin this term by reading a fiction novel Kensuke's Kingdom!
We have a well resourced school library where the children are allowed to select a book.
There is also a reading corner in the classroom.
Our class reading book is the fabulous Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. It tells the story of a boy named Michael, whose family decide to sail around the world after his parents are made redundant from the local brickworks.
Our Summer term Year 6 topic
Our topic for this term has a history and geography focus. We will enjoy learning about 'The Ancient Egyptians'. Have a look at our knowledge organiser to see what we will be covering.
Numeracy
In numeracy we are focusing on fractions, decimals and percentages.
Times Tables Rockstars
Continue to use TTRockstars. Have a go at home to improve your numeracy skills, have fun and try and beat the teachers!!
