Our value for this half term is COMPASSION. We will be adding information to our Values tab throughout the year, to show how we explore our values, what they look like in our school and how we can live them out in our lives, as Jesus taught us to.
School starts: 8:45am
School finishes: 3:15pm
Reception children have their lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Our PE day is Monday with Mr Stevenson. Please ensure you have sent in your child's PE Kit. This will stay in school until the end of the half-term, when it will be sent home to be washed.
Tuck is £10 per whole term. Please pay for tuck using Parent Pay.
Children will also receive a piece of free fruit every day.
Your children will receive a free drink of milk everyday until they reach the age of 5
Your child should bring a water bottle into school each day. Bottles should contain 'water' only. We are a healthy school and discourage sugary drinks.
Welcome to our new half-term!
The children have all settled so well into their new class and are already making some great progress in all areas of the curriculum. Thank you to all our parents and carers for the support you are providing at home.
This half-term we are learning about people who help us in our community through our topic, 'Do all Superheroes Wear Capes?' We have already taken a trip to Brinnington Library to find out about all the lovely books we can borrow with a library card and we have found out what the job of a Librarian looks like. We will be visited by a Police Sergeant from GMP who will talk to the children about his role and the children may even get to try on some police hats! We are also going to be visited by a Hospital Consultant. We hope our topic will encourage all our children to be ambitious about their futures and the possibilities for them when they grow up. Do please talk to your children about what they may like to be when they grow up. Maybe you could take them to the library to find some books about different careers to support our topic in school?
It is a very busy time of the year. The children will be learning the songs and words for their upcoming Christmas Nativity, 'Christmas Counts'. We also hope to invite parents and carers to take part in a Christmas Craft Activity day towards the end of the half-term. Details will be sent to you in the next few weeks.
The new Knowledge Organiser can be accessed below. This outlines much of the learning happening through this half-term.
